yep, ive had the car up now, with the inserts in place. the front is on axle stands. the hole i used is just a bit set back from that one in the photo. its beneath the more rectangular panel with 2x t20 bolts!

i might just put the panel back on over the plug and buy two new ones! i dont wanna risk damaging it pulling it out, and not going back right into the correct hole

Thats the one! Thanks, I probably described it completly wrong! Any idea if you can pick these up off ebay or from VW direct?
Go to your VW dealer and ask for part no 7L0 012 233. It should be the wheel assist for the Touareg and shouldn't cost much over £4 iirc.
Just called VW, can you check that part number for me again, I think its 7L0 012 223 rather than 233 at the end?

Thanks

In your part numbers above, are they the ones for the lower set of photos i.e. the front mounts complete with the undershield blanking piece, or the upper photo i.e just the rubber plug where you have to remove the under sheild cover ?

Also, would these be available from VW or only from Audi Dealers ?

Yes !! Complete as shown on the pics I posted except the yellow stickers, that are homemade.

That doesn't matter. All VW- and Audi-garages should sell these items, maybe even Skoda.

The only difficulty when fittig ist to extract the old plastic pieces on the front.
I needed my complete 85 kg . . .

I think you will find that VW, Skoda and Seat can't look those parts up because they are locked out from doing so.

I asked my parts man at VW about them and he couldn't even view them for this reason.

Just go to an Audi dealer or somewhere like TPS..  :happy2:
