looks like I'm selling the bluefin and heading for Revo....
« on: December 18, 2010, 02:27:35 pm »
After The RR day at nothallerton and their fantasy Dyno I got 320bhp on a stage 1 bluefin.
Since then I bought a HPFP and a full milltek. I got the stage 3 software, so thought I'd head off to PDT for a more accurate run on their Dyno Dyamics rollers.
It took a few runs, Dsg changing up, wheelspin etc, but managed to get 312.7bhp and 312.5lb/ft torques.
Granted it has a good torque curve, and takes a while to spool up, but quite dissapointed in comparison to what the Revo folks are getting with the same hardware :sad1:
For some daft reason I didnt look at the figures on their website, and they only quote 315bhp for stage 2????? surely they could have improved on this compared to what other tuning companies can achieve?
So looks like theirs a bluefin handset up for sale in the near future

I also did some data logging, and the fuel pressureis ok and boost seems like they havent incrrased it? at least the k04 map makes use of the hpfp, not like their k03 map

Logs I took of my stage 1 map

Seaham mate. I just checked my stage 1 logs, and the boost is the same there aswell. so looks like they havent increased the boost pressure for the stage 2+map..........

I work in Seaham  :happy2:

There's lots of stage 1 maps out there that make just under those numbers.

My stage 1 software is very strong

Our own k04 stage 1 software with only a HPFP makes more boost than that :stupid:

The downside of diy homebrew map writing tools  such as BF is that its a 1 size fits all software, they usually have little or no ignition advance (where a lot of the extra power is found during mapping) do a few full throttle runs and log block 20' bet theres no timing pull at all.
