At that price I would think it's cheaper to buy it directly from the stealers over here

I will give mine a call in the morning to see if they have had any cars in recently with the V4 disc  :happy2:

The latest Audi maps on there MMI system are much better than the VW's v3 one's, so I hope the v4 will bring some improvements.

Let's hope they update the maps as well... some of the road details are woefully out-of-date where new bypasses, round abouts, etc. have been built.

And there's also a new Firmware 1100 for the RNS 510 Rev. A
With this firmware the RNS 510A gets the same features as the RNS 510B like bluetooth audio support or AV-Out!
My m8 @ vw has this disc so will be getting my firmware updated 8)

Do you normally have to pay for the firmware upgrade and nav disc update?

Seems a bit unfair if you already have an older version, and its a simple task of bunging in a disc to bring things up-to-date?

^^^ Yes each new disc is chargeable.

Previously the new versions for the older MFD2 DVD Navi where around £165 each.

The V3 maps are online already and are quite good, with TMC enabled etc. I've got a "B" version RNS-510 - there don't seem to have been any updates for that as yet.

get in the car, don't put key in ignition, manually turn the unit on via the unit and immediatly press and and hold set up button for about 15 secs, this should get you into the hidden menu and here you will find map version an software etc etc, this works on my revision unit

Tried it... I just get a setup menu showing AM/FM/DAB....  perhaps I'm doing something wrong.

Newer A firmware (and all version B) don't allow you to do this. The setting needs to be enabled in VCDS.
