Stage 2 Revo & Exhaust
« on: December 18, 2010, 03:51:05 pm »
I’m currently running stage 1 revo on my Ed & am considering purchasing a full tbe milltek. Now amd who will be fitting the exhaust have mentioned that i will need to upgrade my software to stage 2. I’m sure i remember people mentioning on her that when they went stage 2 they needed to upgrade the fuel pump as the standard pump could not cope, is this case?

No that is only Stage 2+.

Stage 2 only request 110bar fuel pressure and the OEM pump can cope up till 115bar.

Stage 2+ requests 130bar which is why you need the pump upgrade.

EDIT: just realised you have a K04 ED30 so what i have just said may not be true. It is for K03s cars and i'm pretty sure it is for K04 but someone with a K04 may be able to clarify better.

You may get a CEL if you run the tbe with stage 1.
Stage 2 is mapped to not give the cel and maximise the extra performance of the tbe. You only need the uprated hpfp for stage 2+.
Without traction power is nothing!

all the above is correct.

Bear in mind though that you dont need the full TBE to go stage 2.  you could just get the downpipe, saving yourself £500.  that way you can put your saved money towards a fuel pump and stage 2+ instead.

However keep in mind that even on stage 1 theres big gains with an uprated hpfp. Stage 2 with REVO often requires quite conservative settings to avoid fuel cuts without an uprated HPFP.

This is what i am worried about, do you think the revo dealer would bear this in mind when mapping stage 2 & set thecorrect settings to avoid the fuel cuts?
