How long do your heated seats take to warm up? :)
« on: December 22, 2010, 10:48:27 pm »
Hey folks!

To those of you with heated seats, how long does it take for the seats to warm up?

My leather ones take about, 5 minutes on the highest setting(5) before they get warmed up, is that about right? I know the cloth ones tend to heat faster due to the material.

Just wondered, more of a comparison really!

Yeah, my leather heaters also take about 4-5 minutes before I start feeling the full effect.

As above, about five minutes. Honestly can't tolerate level 5 for too long as it becomes very uncomfortable. Even 4 is very warm for me. 1 and 2 are barely noticeable so I use 3. If I need the heated seats (which I do in this weather!).

can you please confirm - with the heated seats do you simply roll the dial from 1-5 and they heat? regardless of the actual heater settings?  or do you heater(s) need to be on as well?

Sounds silly I know only got the car today still working out the setting.

My missus think's it's funny to sneak it on at 5 in the height of Summer, she pretends to turn the stereo up then waits for me to squeal.   :fighting2:

Have you not actually sat in your car yet?  They were one of the first things I fiddled with once I'd bought the car and drove it home.

 I used to do exactly that to every person new to my car. It was fun to watch them squirm! Got bored of it and stopped doing it until recently.

I put it on 5 when I leave work in the evening, and the drive home is about 20-25 mins or so, and the other day I managed to go the whole way home with it still on 5.

... I think my coat was taking most of the heat though!!! Otherwise I may have had to turn it off

Bloody hell Lee, is that through leather or cloth ?

If it's through cloth, then it's about the same time as my wife Polo takes (with cloth upholstery). If it's through leather, that's the quickest I've ever heard of ?
