AFAIK red diesel is just white diesel with a red die added. Therefore it has the same addatives as normal white diesel....

Just to confirm I had trouble starting the old girl over these past few weeks due to the cold,  It went into VW for a major service and the oils and filters where changed yes and the fuel filter it now starts and drives perfect every time first time no sluggish turn overs,  obviously if we continue the cold weather it may clog up straight away but its good for now.

a lad at my works had waxing on is old astra,when he took the fuel filter of it was all froze inside,as mentioned its the oil that gets thick angd cloggy and the engine has trouble turning over

Road diesel is formulated to withstand lower temperatures in the winter,red diesel is only a die but doesnt have winter additives
