Evo find the s3 a little dull so if the golf has done ok  go figure  it's the same car underneath

Mods yes but way too many to stick in this little box

I'm pretty sure there has been a Driven article on the Golf .:R and they found it a more exciting drive than the S3 then. Maybe there are subtle differences underneath the skin.

It is strange, s3 never reviews well, poor ride, no steering feel and laggy engine. Golf r seems to be doing very well and obviously the mk5 gti always reviewed very well against the s3

I'd love to know what's going on with my Evo subscription. Didn't get it last month, and not here this month yet. Maybe the postman has got into performance cars.

This is why they prefer the Golf:

SNAP.

Read that last night....can't believe they think the GT2 RS and GT3 RS looks almost identical, and didn't mention the most obvious external difference between a Turbo'd 911 and a non-turbo'd 911.  Silly boys. But what a selection of toys they had to play with this year!

If you have not had yours yet, I dare say it will be on the doorstep soon.  Bit dusty, been in a North Face bag all weekend.

So is it worth buying just to read that review or not?

evo is always worth buying, the only car mag worth buying tbh, as for the golf r, it got three and a half stars which is rubbish. dont like the 4wd (as its not its fwd) and dont seem to like dsg( because its boring) :signLOL: to be honest was never gonna compete with the sti and evo in terms of driving but thats not what its gonna be bought for, like all golfs its an everyday car, because that what they do best.
