GTI Pirelli edition
« on: December 27, 2010, 11:06:13 pm »
Anyone know if it originally came with bespoke mats? I've just bought one and it hasn't got any. All the GTI mats for sale have the red lettering...wondering if they did them with yellow.

Btw...loving this car. Keep going to the window and checking it out.

Don't think you can get any, could always go to one of the custom mat makers on the internet and ask them to make you up a set, would look ace.
What colour is yours?
Nice touch to want to get the mats the same colour, I always think a yellow front grille strip would look nice on the pirellis?!

i sold a few of these, and don't remember them coming with yellow stitched mats.  I always thought that the stripe around the grille should have been yellow to match everything else too!  Would really have set the car apart from the E30's and the rest of the GTi's.  Just Matz should be able to help you out with a custom set...

I've long argued that Pirellis should have been colour coded ie yellow stripe/yellow calipers/yellow stitching.

As it stands, seats, rims and badge were the only things to differentiate a Pirelli from an Edition 30.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Mine only came with standard black mats, not even a gti logo on them.

Agree with the other sentiments about the colour coding to distinguish the pirelli

Congrats on the new motor! Sounds like you are as bad as me for constantly checking out the new car!
Mine didn't have yellow trimmed mats but I'm hopefully getting a set made! :happy2:

Silver, 3dr. Never been mad for the colour but it just works with this motor.

Agree with the general sentiment that a yellow theme extending to the calipers, grille etc would have been brill..

markymark - let me know how they turn out. I may well follow suit!

There is a nice blue graphite 5dr dsg for sale at a dealers, but asking £19750 is a bit steep!

Yellow trimmed mats with the pirelli lettering would look really nice, perfect finishing touch.
