Lowering springs

Are there anydraw backs to fitting lowering springs? Bouncy ride? more wear on anything?

I always thought you should change the shocks too, but have noticed a few people have been changing only the springs.

they seem good value, are they ok?

Not for me.I think VW got it right out of the box,& with all the recent snow & chunks of ice around i'm glad it's not lower.

....You have a good point but after this last February I simply don't take my GTI out of her batcave if there's any snow at all!:



However, I expect that daboy, like me, prefers the advantages of a lowered car.

DPM and Eibach are well established. VWR also do a lowering spring suitable for stock dampers IIRC.

Thats a lovely looking snow plough you have there!!!

Did you just change the springs or go for a whole kit?

Yours looks very low, i was thinking of going down 25mm

No, mine is on KW-V3 coilovers and setup for 'fast road' and occasional trackdays. Dunno the measurement but it'll be lower than 25mm. I was responding to Gene Hunt's post.  :happy2:

i went for just eichbach springs and i couldnt be happier
pic whoring commence... lol


have contemplated coilies but i think with a few handling mods.i,m sorted.
the ride is firmer but not bouncy at all.....well except when i,m pushing on :evilgrin:

Is there a big difference between the GTI/ED30 shocks and the GT Tdi shocks?
