MFD2 Installation Issues
« on: January 01, 2011, 03:27:51 pm »
Hi guys,

I bought an MFD2 headunit from eBay and it arrived a couple of days ago.  I fitted it easily enough and placed the aerial under the speaker grille on top of the dash.

I cannot get a fix on any satelites, despite placing the aerial on top of the dash

The seller is sending over a new aerial and I will give this a try - is there anything else that I can try if this doesn't work?

Cheers for any help with this!

Just a thought but look in the gps aerial connector on the unit.

When I got my new RNS I plugged in the GPS aerial and the very fine centre core got bent hence no satellites! When I tried to bend it back straight it obviously snapped off!!!

I used a cut down pin pushed into the centre of the GPS aerial to fix it and it works a treat  :happy2:
