Sorry to bring this up(AGAIN) but i just need to figure this out
i fitted a new mirror motor to the passenger mirror and then tried it again but as soon as i put the car in reverse the bloody mirror just keeps going up then out a little bit??????????????
i really need to make a video of this to show exactly what is happening!!!

scott

Could it something obscure like the wrong side motor as in if it was turned the other way it might be correct??
Stu its def not on the wrong way round as i have checked with another mirror!!!

scott :happy2:

You are aware that you have so SET the "dipped mirror position" arent you?

By the looks of it, its set wrong and thats why its going "up then out a little "

I never set mine, Rich. Just enabled it and worked first time.

Just leave the mirror selector switch on the passenger side...

That is true but by moving the mirror adjust switch th any other setting also puts the mirror back to normal position.

I have a 2007 56 plate GTI (UK) with Factory Fitted Parking Sensors and Highline Computer with Highline CCM.

My mirror dips but have noticed that it only does it with one of the keys so I guess I need to set it up with the other one.

Instructions I got from another site:

1. put it in reverse

2. put mirror in L position

3. adjust mirror to see curb

4. take it out of L position

5. take out of reverse

(4 + 5 may work other way round)

Not tried it myself as was already set up with one of the keys but will give it a go with the other one.
