Tips for stopping the number plate backing coming away?
« on: January 02, 2011, 05:57:31 pm »
This is a pet hate of mine that every year the number plate backing seems to start to separate. The number plate then looks poor and needs replacing. Does anyone seal them somehow? Perhaps on the edge to stop water ingress?

Most problem i see come from the drilled holes so i guess sticking them on helps, also when you buy them rub the backs to ensure they are stuck down correctly,  other than that then i would just change them over for new one every so often, they are quite cheap to buy now

Thanks. I stick them on with the adhesive pads so the waters obviously getting in from the sides. I might try a thin layer of silicone sealant around the edge to see if that helps. :driver:
