New Member... New GTI Owner
« on: January 04, 2011, 04:48:05 pm »
Hi There

Just thought I'd introduce myself now that I've finally purchased my Golf GTI after many months of searching. I've been a member of the forum for a while just browsing, never really posted anything though.

Anyway, I used to own a MK4 GTI Anniversary Edition, but found it quite boring to drive (even after a few naughty modifications), so sold that on and bought myself a cheap run around so that I could take my time looking for my next car.
I was after a MK5 GTI, in either Black, Red or White... White was the preferred option but was proving to be very hard to find!
But after a little more time, a lovely standard Candy White GTI with full VW service History popped up for sale... so how could i resist!

Will be picking her up tomorrow hopefully, the only downside is that it isn't fully specced up inside (no leather or highline display etc...), it does have heated seats and auto lights/wipers though. So I will be looking at changing the cluster for a highline at some point, as well as adding cruise control and leather seats. Anyone point me in the right direction with this? Also want to add an armrest and euro cup holder.

Finally, I'm sure within the next few weeks I will want more power, so any recommendations for a remap? JKM is just down the road from me and I've heard good things about them. But also, when I had my Anniversary I drove up to R-Tech for all my mods as they gave me a very good deal.

Will get some pics up as soon as possible, verrryyy excited  :happy2:

Welcome Nick, im a new owner myself.

May I ask, where about did you pick up the car from?  I was looking for a candy white and almost nearly bought one a week ago but it was a bit to far for me to travel, wonder if its the same one.

Hi and welcome.

The mods you've mentioned have been done by others and there's threads on getting the right part numbers etc.

JKM are beyond par and since you're so close to them, there's no excuse for not attending Rolling Road days!

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Not sure how to do multiple quotes yet so sorry for the double post.

Thanks, I'll have search on the forum then to see if I can come across any threads with part numbers etc.

Well in that case, I shall come along to the next rolling road day... whenever that is?

Cheers
