number plate surrounds
« on: January 03, 2011, 10:21:12 pm »
I have just treated myself to a private plate.
What is the best surround to get to put on a silver GTI
What looks best?
Any ideas
Cheers

I want to get a 'Wolfsburg, ABT' number plate surround for my rear plate,
But e bay only do pairs of these, only about £15 a pair, and look great on the GTI imo, A pressed plate would set it off even better though!

Buy the pair then, and sell NJ the front.  in fact come to think of it i should have a front one knocking around somewhere.  :rolleye:

Does the front one stick out if you attach it original mount?
Does it look ok or sh*te?
If so i will just get a back one

I've got a pair of these and think they look pretty cool.

The front one was a bit of a b*gger to fit, just make sure you add a couple of self tappers to make the holder fit properly, i.e. the outer edge, bend to match the bumper. Otherwise it will look naff.

you can get them from awesome.

i bought the rear only and in fairness my number plate is too big to fit in the surround, did anyone else have this issue? Been to a get a new one cut today and place said they can only cut the standard size number plates? I dont fancy trying to saw or score off the edge with a stanley but maybe this will be ok?
Diamond Black Pearl Edition 30, still going strong but now back to Stg 1
