Red stripe around grill

How easy is it to take off?

Want it black, what's the best thing to use?

Anyone done it?

Anyone done it? Yes. Darren-Mortygttdi had it for a while painted purple.

iv got mine painted white, just use a small flat head screw driver, and just go along and pop it out from your front grill, just dont scratch the black or use so much force that u snap the red stripe :) it is easy realy :)

clean it with hot soapy water then also get some very fine sand paper rub it down, prime it, then sand again, then paint then laquer it :) i just drove round for 2 days without it whilst i painted it :)

then just clip it back on and your done :)

Nope,  never been available on it's own.
I do like them colour coded, but not sure how a black one would look, not too keen on the idea myself.
Love it when peoples projects use a couple of colours,IE, delboys black GTI with the light blue theme on the interior and on the grill too.

 Ive been wanting change red stripe for while, seen couple on here and looks loads better, colour coded to rest of the car!!!!! not sure about black though either?? Going to get some coloured electrical tape, test the water see what looks best before get it painted properly :smiley:

I'm currently painting mine black as I don't want it to look too much like a GTi(as its not)
