Getting the Hi beam shutter to work on xenons
« on: January 06, 2011, 09:13:21 pm »
Hey guys wondering if you could help me out.

Fitted OEM xenons to the car a while ago and just got round to wanting the bi-xenon effect.
I think its the extra wire that comes with the kufatec adapter but where does it go.

Thanks in advance for any help/diagrams

The extra wire on the Xenon 10-12 pin adaptor looms are the feed for the Xenon shutters.  If you want xenon main beams, you will need to run a wire to the Cent Conv Module , and join it to these on each light.

The wire is pin 11 in the pic below.

Is the CECM located under the steering wheel..?

After that is done does it just need programed to work with the hi beam shutters or does it just work after its plugged in.

Thanks

The CECM is located adjacent to the fuse box.

Remove the dash lower panels and take a look under the dash, look at where a shed load of looms are heading behind the fuse box area and you will see the CECM.

You need to 'unlock' the plugs so you can remove them and slot the repair wires in.  I seem to remember you can only remove the plugs in a L-->R sequence.

HTH

ps you will also need to VCDS (code) the Car to tell it that Bi-Xenons with shutters are fitted.
