If your guildford way and your willing to travel the 20-25 miles to vw motorline in horsham or crawley who I can both recomend they would do the major service for £249 and your brakes for £59 and cambelt and waterpump for £399. Total £707

Why VW for the Cambelt? Its quite straightforward and similar to most other cars is it not?

Just booked in at my local VW for the belt and water pump - £249 all in.

Mate works at local Kwick Fit, he printed a sheet saying he will offer the service using genuine VW parts at £249 and local VW matched it!

what else needs doin at the 4th service? just had my cambelt & water pump changed by vw £317 all in, so is it just a standard service apart from that???

Assuming you are on the long life service plan then yes it is just a standard service. If the car is 4 years old or time&distance 4 year service then it will be due it's next 2 yearly brake fluid change. Also, some people change the fuel filter around this time (depending on mileage) - VW don't actually include the fuel filter in the servicing requirements but it is wise to change it at some point in the car's lifetime just to be on the safe side. I changed mine myself, £7.50 for the filter from the local motor factors.

im on time & distance so i guess just a standard service, i had the break fluid changed bk in august so that shud b gud for now.
will look into gettin the fuel filter done aswell the :happy2:
