Top speed

I think vw say the mk5 golf gti has a top speed of 147mph. Now I'm curious as to what it can handle and if anyone has gone quicker than this. Before somebody says "it's not relevant" and "what's the point?", I'm just curious that's all.

And obviously I don't mean on uk roads! On track days or on a few autobahns on the way to the ring!  :driver:

i was on the way to amsterdam last year playing with an S8 and i saw 161mph on my gps, could have gone abit more. That was with a stage 2+ KO4. The road was absolutly dead aswell.  :smiley:
