I think that you should request your own thread.

1. It stops posters who come, post a thread then disappear from simply just posting a thread that wont be finished.

other than that I think the unlock/lock you own thread thing works and if someone accidently posts in your thread whilst it is unlocked thn PM a mod and he can silently move it  :wink:
