New controller for folding mirrors ?
« on: January 14, 2011, 01:56:18 pm »
OK, i have found some folding mirrors with puddle lights, they are the R version to so ideal for me, but they dont come with the knob which i know i will need to buy, question is can i tell if my door controller will work with the mirrors ?, i have seen another member of the scirocco forum need a new controller so i didnt want to buy these if it meant getting a new controller, his came all in on package for not much more than the cost of the mirrors alone i am looking at !

Anyone able to check to see if they are compatible ?

Sorry Shaun I told you they where handed,  I thought you ment the modules???? Ive just got in and i'm tired sorry :ashamed:

The mirrors from Germany should be fine with UK modules, although if it has mirror dip then its possible that the mirror dip will be on our drivers which is there passengers side? but that can be easily fixed by swapping the wiring and mirror motor.

1K8 857 508 Q 9B9 = Right (RHD) Mirror with Fold in and Entry Lights = £129.22
1K8 857 507 R 9B9 = Left (RHD) Mirror with Fold in, Entry Lights and Memory Function = £142.22

These exclude the painted cap/cover and glass so you need to re-use these  :happy2:

So the left costs more ?, so it makes sense that theres something extra there
