Personally, i'd check a dealer price first and if poss a TPS at a dealer as its going to be possibly cheaper for the same item.
But if you think something is up i'd check that first, as if there is nothing wrong then its money being spent for nothing

What do you mean my a TPS at a dealer?

Would be able to pop up one night this week if possible.......off today but let me know when would be best.

Thanks

my gti wasnt boosting properly and hissing alot. turned out to be the dv.. i changed it for the revised vw part. boosts lovely now. i am in aylesbury by the way.
when u take dv off the car its only 3 screws and a plug if i remember correctly. once off have a look inside the black plastic casing and you will see a rubber stretchy type material, lol... that tends too perish over years and develops holes in it where the boost escapes. got my old dv here to prove it..  :jumpmove:

Started the job of changing my DV.

Loosened the wheel nuts, jacked it up and had the axle stand ready........flaming jack wouldn't lift the car high enough to get the axle stand under the rear wishbone joint....AAARRRGGHHHHHHHH

So wheel back on, lowered the car and packed it all away, will have to rethink the strategy a bit more and start again in the morning...
