As I suspected they say 'we never said it was an oem part' even though I specifically asked if it was to which they replied yes it is. The guy said 'oh it's an oem replacement grille'! If that isn't a underhand play on words I don't know what is. Not only do I have to pay a 25% 're-stocking' fee, I've got to pay for the shipping to send it back!  :fighting:

I'm not a happy bunny. I will not be using them again. Jokers.

Why don't you just keep it? The shinyness will become dull soon, if that makes sense!

I dont think it will.........if its like the ones iv seen the honeycombe is made from the same plastic as the main grille mask.

Its because its one piece. The OEM grilles are two pieces, the gloss black mask comes away from the honeycombe  :happy2:

Just get a sprayer to blow over the honeycomb part with matt black, Shouldnt cost more than a tenner and will look identicle to original.

My MY06 gti has only covered 7000 miles and the grill is a kind of satin black rather than matt. They do go matt with age I notice - my father in law's 07 ed30 is completely matt.
Exactly what do you call shiny? - pics?

If it's one piece it will look  no matter what you do to it.

As far as I am aware all the grilles are one piece.
Do you still have the e mails from the company?
How did you pay? I would not just  send it back, as you are losing out on postage and on the 'restocking fee' which sounds crap to me.
I would not let them do this.
