Within reason, yes - you obviously can't take the p***, but my 3 mates that own the track Bora do lots of CDays events for that very perk.

You've also got to consider how much abuse the car can take and how much that translates to your seat time between 4. You don't really want to be staying out too long on standard brakes for example, so you could do 15mins out/15 mins rest.

You don't have to be insured, but I'd recommend it if you can't afford to lose it.

I did Oulton Park at the samt time last year, twas a good day out.

I even managed to just about set my brakes on fire (AP 4 pots) in the old Ibiza

Economical?? Ha!!

Yup, Oulton's a hoot off season. Even on a dry day it's two different tracks as it changes through the day, really challenging.

Oh, and kudos on the fire, that's proper man-braking. I think I was on that day too, was it a SCN day, got fogged off late afternoon??

Yea, that was the day, Tony  :happy2:

I was in the little black mk4 Ibiza Cupra. I did 8 very hot laps playing with a few Clio's then the red flag came out on the last bend before the puts so I didn't have time to do a cool down lap. When I pulled into the pits there was smoke poring into the cabin through the air vent, I had to drive round the padock to cool them down  :signLOL:

Edit: Have a look at some of the pics I took that day, Tony http://www.flickr.com/photos/14057550@N08/sets/72157623245909819/

Well, you'll have to get the MKV on now to see how it compares!

I was in a white MKV GTI, think it's the only one you don't have a pic of. That MKII Escort was ace.

If you're with Greenlight, £50. Through the likes of Moris probably £70-ish.

Insurance cost me 100 quid for OPL at Anglesey, think its usually a % of the cars value

Sounds about right, Gaz.

I may be wrong, but I think you can choose to insure say £10k of the car, even if it's worth £20k as a bit of a gamble to lower the premium, they also start knocking money off for good behaviour the more you use them too.

thats how I understand it Mike, you could chose what level of cover you had, that price was for the full value of the S3 with mods etc
