Engine dies after some beans
« on: January 19, 2011, 07:06:35 pm »
Hi,

In my time as a member here i doesn't recall reading about this problem before.
After some eans and then disengaging the clutch the car doesn't return to idle but dies instead
Not in a position until the end of the month to read errorcodes and do logs but apparently everything is fine.
Any sharp heads here that have experienced this or have some suggestions to cause or possibly solutions??

Cheers  :happy2:

A small air leak could cause this and also not sure if it's controlled by the actuator flap but idle control valve. Also that actuator flap on jettas blows a fuse so I'd say check the fuses first as a quick check that's my ideas as a start!!

No problem keep us updated

Edit: good way to check if you can't pin it down get a can of aerosol brake cleaner and spray it all around the intake and vacuum pipes  manifold etc and the engine will suck it in and the revs will die a little so make note of where your squirting it when it does
