Standard stereo and bluetooth
« on: September 19, 2011, 02:05:02 pm »
Hi All,

I know there has been a lot of talk about this before but still not clear on what is the best option. I have a standard GTI stereo in the car but I also have a MFSW. Why would VW add the answer phone call/phone book buttons if you couldn't already connect up the phone through the original stereo, whether that's via bluetooth or a lead.

Really want to get car set up with iphone ASAP.

Thanks for any info on this.

They're standard parts. VW aren't going to make MFSW with and without telephone buttons. Just costs more money. Standardised parts.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

If your car has MFSW from factory, you should also have the Highline display which you can use for the phone communication  :happy2:

If installed it'll show as a menu line in the Highline, otherwise you need to buy the appropiate BT, ie. 729 or 730 module

@danishmkvgti I will check. Is there any more information on "BT, ie. 729 or 730 module"? I am totally clueless.
