Switching from GMT to CET
« on: January 20, 2011, 07:54:11 pm »
Hi guys.

What are your opinions of the Uk switching from gmt to cet?

Basically we would get +2 hours in the summer and +1 in the winter.
Benefits include an increase in road safety more light in the afternoon

I'm all for it to be honest. It does mean the sun would come up in the morning a little later but I reallly couldn't care less.

Have a look on lighterlater.org for more info.

If you are in favour, don't just read this, vote yes and read another topic. Put your name on the register and put meaning to your opinion

Personally i couldn't care less either way.

I think all this Crap about "it will stop Seasonal Adjustment Disorder (S.A.D)" and will make the roads safer etc is just that...Crap.

Why do we constantly look for excuses to blame our own faults on  If i have a crash in November at 1600hrs im not going to sit there saying "well if we switched to CET it wouldn't have happened" :stupid:

Just my tuppence and not intended to offend/upset anyone.

Fair does. Id give anything to be able to walk the dog after work without a barstewards torch. I think it's so depressing being in total darkness at 4!

One of the biggest drivers in objecting to this is the airline industry.

Wont bore you with it all but its all about fatigue and arcadian cycles, the permitted duty day is under threat from the EU anyway, in effect flight and cabin crew will be able to work less.
