....Buried somewhere in my car's batcave and probably guarded by hordes of hungry spiders. Dunno if I still have the fixings though. My car won't be torn apart when/if I sell and so no future need, plus you probably already know I have a carbonfibre bonnet.

Why do you want it Al? Surely you don't want to 'deaden' the Twintake noise

The only variable is the maf in this case as nothing else is fastened to it. It's not being damaged has it or Youv just being unlucky and it's not working correctly since it's being touched???? But you would need vagcom to check.

The gti is know foe feeling like It takes 1too many turns to start. DSG driving is small spaces and parking isn't the smoothest thing either!

Is the intake pipe at the back that goes into the engine on correctly? Mine was slightly loose and caused the car to stall or rev erratically when stationary or pulling up at junctions.

Hadn't thought about it that way to be honest, Have you taken yours off too? not fancying the clean up operation underneath!

I run a P-Flow and don't have the problems you mention. Are you 100% certain the MAF has been fitted the right way up? Should be as shown below:

Also if it is making a whistling noise it might be worth checking the jubilee clamps are tight enough on the silicone hose connector.

There is also a small possibility that the turbo is on it's way out. They can make a really High pitch whistle when they are abit tired. But without hearing it it's hard to say if the noise your hearing is normal...

My car makes the high pitch whistle/whine on full throttle and im just running revo and dsg stage 1. Ive had the car pressure tested for leaks etc and everything was fine. I was told that it could be excessive induction noises. With regards to it being the turbo, im not ruling it out but surely if it was, it would get progressively worse and not just need wide open throttle for it to be heard.  :scared:

When on full throttle the turbo is under it most load and you would depending on how bad it was only get the noise then. As for it getting worse there is no time limit it could go on for years or it could only last a week who knows.. But with out hearing the noise these are just guesses iv a video of mine it's not a p flow but it's the same designe see if you can hear it
