The only thing that could cause it to go quite is the flywheel as it's dualmass it causes a knocking noise but if it's a squeak as such it's the release bearing (more likely) as the flywheel would be a noticeable what's wrong with my car if it was on it's way out!!!

Its seems to be more tappity, rather than a squeakin noise.
i only need to apply a small amount of presure to the clutch , for the noise to fade. it then sounds normal.
i had upgraded my subframe & engine mounts to TSR's, but the sound was there before hand...
it is well serviced & looked after...
Ive had the mechanic check over my timing belt, to see about renewal, he give me the ok, its said to be in good condition.
No point in replacing it yet, if its ok..
But what other belts or chains is there?
Cam chain ?
Tensioner?
Would it help to identify the problem, if the noise was better heard inside, but on the outside more to the passenger side of the engine?
