HELP - Removing rear discs. 14mm 12point socket
« on: January 24, 2011, 02:58:00 pm »
Hi All
Replacing rear discs and need to remove the hangers for the calipers.
The 14mm spline I got for the job is wrong. Need a 12 point of Tripple square.
Can anyone lend me one or where can I get one from?
Leeds based.
Cheers

PS car up on stands as I type :(

Or even where you managed to buy one from.

Tried EuroParts, GSF, Andrew Page, Illinworth Supplies, Halfords.
Just not TPS as I don't have an account.

Thank you all.

Finally rang VW Bradford and got through to the helpful guy in parts.

He got the part for machine mart in Bradford. Machine mart Leeds hadn't a clue.

Well, discs replaced new pads in less time than it took to find the part.

Thank you everyone for your help. If anyone needs a hand changing the rear (or front) discs let me know.

Much to the disgust of a few members I got aftermarket ones.  Love the look of drilled & grooved even though I don't need the performance.

Did the front ones last year and only just got round to fitting the rears.
Bought them from M-Tech in Northern Ireland. They get great reviews on most forums for quality and service. Think it was about £140 for full set of front & rears.

If you need the details just pm me.
