....Always good to hear! Makes it more difficult for me to justify a RS3 next Autumn.

Great to hear they are still good at high mileage.

So I my go view a car this weekend. A private seller. Any advice? Going to check log book and check round the car. How do I check for accident history etc and do you think it would be a problem getting the car checked by a mechanic that I know who would live about 50 miles away from the owner?

....Unless the seller has something to hide, in which case you don't want to be buying, it shouldn't be any problem at all.

...and I assume the seller would have to come with me. I could leave my are at theirs but it's a beat up old MK3 1.4 so don't think they'd go for that.

....It's entirely up to you how you want to arrange things - You're the one in control. You could always take a friend and leave them with your car if you're worried.

@Vick N Why did you sell the ED30? Drove one recently and it was fantastic

Just have to get my nerve up to purchase privately I think

Mine was the best car I owned but house purchase needed me to free up some money so It had to go or I would have been sat at home with my parents still  (I wish I was sometimes lol!!!  :innocent: )

I sold it to a friend and he has promised me first refusal when he sells it so it hopefully will make a comeback sometime in the near future!

....I know a guy who bought a Porsche C4 road-legal track car from a guy who keeps pestering him to buy it back but he won't! Having been in it I don't blame him either. I guess it depends how good your friendship is and hope it holds out for you, Vick, as it's obviously a very fine chariot.
