I did Devon Mikey Boys brakes on the replacement car after his 450BHP 140PD, he sold it and bought a 550BHP twin turbo R32......

The biggest problem with Diesel tuning is that you have to spend some serious money on clutches - not an area you can scrimp on.....

One of the lads on the Mk4 forum is running a 260BHP big turbo 150 Engine with a V6 Long legged gearbox and in gear it would keep up with a Stage 2 ED30 I would say fairly easily, he uses it as a daily and gets 50+ MPG, totally effortless driving as well
not for getting Bob Singh arl engine 300bhp with 530 nm of torque

Our stage 3 2.0 PD makes 240-260 bhp and 400 ft/lb but you need:

Intercooler
Flywheel (uprated dual mass)
Uprated clutch kit
Turbo back exhaust system
Stage 2 hybrid turbo
EGR removal
Solid boost pipes
PDT stage 3 custom map.

Did one at the end of last year that made 261hp and 380 ft/lb without the egr removal and solid boost pipes but time will tell if the original crappy plastic ones will last.

Very very quick in a straight line, suprisingly quick infact and holds power to 5400 rpm, will outpace a lot of cars you wouldnt expect.

Would you have anymore info or links to this?

Is it a 140PD or the 170PD engine?

I'm currently running stage 2 on a PD170 Leon FR, approx 225bhp and 360lb/ft, looking into the next stage as i've got used to the power already! :(

Thats based on the 140pd

The 170 will make similar figures with the right clutch and turbo.

Hi,
Was it using uprated injector nozzles or was it still on the standard injector/nozzles?
Thanks

Yes, clutch upgrade, turbo, I will need convincing...

My FR was mapped by a tuner who had himself, an FR. On his own car he experimented with different maps and setups, including running a hybrid turbo. His own words were for the cost of a hybrid turbo, he would not do it again as the gains were far from worthwhile.

Is it not a case, that the standard injectors on the 170PD max out at in and around the same sort of figures (bhp) as what a few people are achieving after DPF removal and stage 2 software?

by "right turbo" can you elaborate any? Are we talking hybrid as above or a completely different unit...?

thanks
