Very entertaining as usual & congrats on the quicker time!

How are you finding the seats, I would love to try them in mine at some point.  More practical for me to try now its not our everyday car

Thanks  :happy2:!

The seats are awesome even for everyday use. The only issue is getting in and out for the car. But apart form that they are better when OEM.
And the OEM seatbelts don't quite go well with these seats so a 4+ point harness is needed to keep you firmly in the seat.

Great stuff as usual and I am sold on the 8x17 TDs, they sit perfectly - I will definintely be getting some at some time!

I think if the Mini wasnt there you would have wound some steering lock off and not had the oversteer moment...looked cool anyhow! :driver:

Keep up the good work! :congrats:

Thanks!
I am not so happy about the video so I have to post a better copy (without the sync problem).

You are right about the oversteer  :notworthy:. One correction though... it was a Renault Clio Sport (I know that the video quality is crap).

And another issue.... After the debate a few post above I got to weigh the OEM seats. Each one weighs 20.9 kg.
Based on Fuscobal's weighing the Recaro's weigh 17kg each (seats, rails, mounts, etc). So I managed to reduce the overall weight of the car by 7.8 kg.
So buying the Recaro seats just to lose some weight is not the most cost effective way. I bought the Recaro's to install the 4 point harness and roll cage so the weight issue was not a concern.

If it wasnt for concern of unplugging the airbags Id take a Leon seat out & weigh that too.  Thanks  for the update Rex  :happy2:

Don't worry about the airbag. Taking a seat off is very, very easy (even I can do it)... just 4xM8 bolts and 2 connectors (airbag and seat belt). If you do something wrong an error will appear in the dashbord. One thing that the fitting instructions said was to disconnect the battery for 10 minutes before taking the seat off (this is to make sure that the airbags don't go off by accident; but even this is not necessarily)
If weight is a big issue I would definitely advise you to weigh the OEM seats so that you won't be surprised.

Possibly GTI Top Sport seats are heavier than GT seats?

And here are the same sessions filmed from the car behind (the 2.0 tdi I was telling you above):

Sorry for the shaky camera!

I really like to see the videos from behind because I can easily see what I am doing wrong.
