I changed the Polar FIS advanced for the REVO SPS Pro this friday, and it's a great bit of kit.
Unlike the Polar FIS you are not able to change the name on top of the display, it's REVO and stays that way.
Another difference is the option of 10 screens compared to the 6 from Polar.
But you will love it. :happy2:

Over the top mod list ;o)

I'd be interested in a review of the Revo SPS Pro when you've had it up and running a little while. I'm thinking of getting a Revo map when I go stage two as I love the idea of switching maps easily and being able to tinker the settings myself for a bit of something to do. :happy2:

Moving over to Flickr, sorry for the broken picture links!

Getting something like a PolarFIS is well worth the trouble/cost. I rarely look at my board computer data anymore. I leave it in the PolarFIS+ Adv. screen and scroll to different pages if I'm curious about other sensor data that I don't have available in my 1st page. I've reduced the pages to 4 after removing my DPF which I had a page dedicated to.

Cheers! Looking forward to having it installed (if all works well).

Ha ha... Jake, I suspected you were going to be one of the first ones to have the SPS PRO fitted  :happy2:.
I don't think it is going to be a problem if the menu is called REVO...

I will surely review the SPS PRO after I buy and install it.
If it's everything they say it is, it might just be perfect...  :happy2:

Well, I installed the new CCM today.
The hardware installation is fairly simple (I used this tutorial).
You have to take the whole glove compartment out but I can't really say it's difficult...

Old:

New:

But coding the new Central Convenience Module was quite difficult.
By seeing @kevinm coding (in this topic), I got mine working. I modified a few information (like LHD/RHD) and a few other bits but the majority is the same.
Still, I can't access the comfort menu  :sad1:

I wrote more info in this topic.
Any ideas?

Thank you  :notworthy:. I hope it was an interesting read...
I usually use it about twice per week.
In the last month, though, I used it daily since I borrowed my other daily drive.
The other daily drive is a 2013 Seat Ibiza 1.4 MPI and I have to say I love both cars for different reasons:
- The Seat is great as a town car. The engine quickly gets to operating temperature and it is a go-anywere kind of car (in my perspective, at least comparing it to the Golf).
- The Golf is the car I look after, a much nicer car if the roads are good, if it's warm and if it's driven properly. The mods really make me love the car more and I truly see and appreciate each mod I've made... This is the car I turn my head over after I park  :happy2: . It can still be improved (small tweaks and a 2.0 TFSI engine) but I am sure I will get there some day. Since there is no plan to sell it (ever) I know there's no hurry. Plus I plan on building a house so most of my savings and money will likely go that way.
Thanks again!  :drinking:

Well, the CCM didn't work as expected because it seems that I need a MFSW to make everything work.
I was (and still am) not a big fan of the MFSW because in my previous experience with MFSW I tend to bush the buttons when I steer the car.
But I really want that REVO SPS Pro so I decided to switch to a MFSW.
There were 2 choices:
1. Mk5 MFSW
2. MK6 MFSW

The first was less expensive and I like the leather better (it is perforated where it should be) while the second option looks better and has more buttons for diverse functions.
Finally it all came to price and since I have a MFSW Mk5 GTI steering wheel (with blanks for buttons) I decided to go for No. 1.

I wanted to buy the controls from the dealer but they cost 100 GBP each  :rolleye: (and I had to buy other parts as well).
So I bought a 3 spoke MFSW. This was never fitted but had some marks on the controls (scratches).

I think this failed the quality control and they tried to destroy the piece.
But, I go another left control with a broken leg and I switched the exterior part, so now the left one is in perfect condition.

The right part has the scratch I was telling you about and at this point I am waiting to have it mounted to see how much this would bug me. If that scratch is visible I will find a way to switch that part.

I've ordered the airbag loom and steering wheel controller (CH version) and after they arrive I will put everything together.
I hope all will be fine now... :drinking:

Thank you! Hope so too!

And another piece of the puzzle just arrived:

If anybody knows something about the MFSW airbag loom please help me with my question in this thread: http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,95323.0.html

Thank you  :notworthy:

Well, not all went acording to plan...

I've ordered the airbag cable, part no. 1K0 971 584 C

But that had 6 pin slots for the controls and I only had 5 pins.
From what I understand that means it's for the mk6 controls.

Then I ordered another airbag loom that someone said is for the mk5 steering controls. When I fitted it the controls they were only working when the horn was pushed  :fighting:

I called a friend who is doing a lot of retrofits and we was able to move the wires from one airbag loom to the other and so, I am proud to say I have a fully working MFSW.

So the REVO SPS Pro is next  :drinking:
