Because I just can't hold my temper, the biggest mod yet  :innocent: :

Not really... But I think it's a nice touch.

And another small touch...
In the first few pages of this thread, there  was a debate whether the RLine/R32/ED30 lights or the OEM LED ones look better on my car. It has been a struggle to get the best looking ones for my car and, frankly, I still don't know which are best. But none, the less, I was given an opportunity I could not refuse.

Basically, I got these

for 40 GBP:pomppomp:
There're R32 genuine tail lights with very minor scratches from normal use. One polish will deal with them.
My previous tail lights were the stock ones, painted to resemble the RLine/R32/ED30 ones.
Below are photos of the RLine ones (darker) vs the painted ones.

And the lights mounted on the car (please excuse the dust on the car):

All in all a bargain, and another cheap mod, I am very proud of...
Slowly but surely the car is coming together and I am running out of mods that don't require an engine swap.  :rolleye:

I hope to get better pictures with the car cleaned and taillights polished in the spring.

Since I can only post 3 pictures for the 2016 calendar, I posted these (in the proper thread http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,102019.0.html):

But for some time I've had the following 2 pictures that I love and that I did not submit for any calendars.

Do you think I should modify the proposed photos?
Cheers  :drinking:

Nah, IMHO the 1st three pictures are better because they show your whole GT Sport. The whole package is so nice that just showing a detail doesn't do it justice.

Good luck buddy! just be patient when fitting the new gear stick to the old gaiter base, it can be tricky!

In the lack of this tool:

I've seen someone in my country using this method:

He fitted the gear knob in a mk7 1.6 TDI R-Line. Hope you like it.

No, it's from someone local to me. It's a mk7 Golf, I only have 2 mk5s.

Your DIY is awesome, as I told you in your project. I just liked this other method of keeping everything clean inside the car too.

Thanks guys for the tips!

@bluebert92 I've seen you photos since those photos are the ones that convinced me to buy the knob.
@Shoduchi that is a great idea. Thanks!
