About the speed in the corners I agree, but I can't say the same thing about braking... I remember not braking as hard as I could on turn 14 (where you clearly have a better braking) because it was the warm up lap and I wanted to warm the brakes first. This does not mean that I am better on braking but I think that there is no way of telling at the moment... On the warm up lap I never brake at 100% and than I never brake 100% on the end of the straight on my first complete lap (because of the same reason).

Hi everyone. Well, it's been a while since my last mods so I had to do something about that...
First of all I wanted to work a little bit on the interior, so I bought GTI pedals, and headlight control unit, mirror and window controls just like MK6 GTI. I really like the look and I am one step closer to having the interior the way I like it

I have also bought the ED30 front splitter (I always wanted this and it should have come with the car, when new). This will be painted on Monday along with half of the car. There are a lot of small scratches and I want to fix them.

Thanks for watching!

Nice details.
ED30 splitter will look really good.  :happy2:

One suggestion:  GTI/R32 shift knob. Feels (solid alloy) and looks stunning.

Just my thought, but i would suggest an ED30 gearknob or mk 6 R gearknob instead

ED30 = Golf ball = GTI only   :P

I love my golf ball knob, but the standard GTI knob felt even better in my hand.

The issue here is a nice gearknob, not what model it's from, if it fits in the 1,4 then it's usable  :P Then ED30 gearknob lies better in the hand than the standard GTI gearknob IMO, but i do prefer the R gearknob, but this is also an option

The first one is Driver Gear / Original Volkswagen Equipment.

Just a question of personal taste though.

Well guy, thank you for the feedback and for the advice.
You are right, I should do something about the gear leaver, but I am not sure what.
Let me explain:

1. GTI/ GTI ed 30 knob are not on my taste

2. The Golf ball knob is closer to my taste, but I don't like how the alu part is connected to the leather beneath it. So I am still in doubt about this.

3. mk 6 GTI is out of the question because of the red stitching.

4. mk 6 R is nice but because of the piano black exterior I am not so sure it will look ok (even if I have black interior trim)
Jake, this is actually a mk6 GTD knob:

Yours is the R one. Please notice the difference:

5. The closest to my tase is actually the mk6 GTD (the one above). But there is something I don't like in this also: the grey stitching.

So I am really confused which way to go and that is why I remained to stock at this chapter.
Any other thoughts are welcomed!
Cheers  :drinking:

Rex i would say this one or the GTD one, you can easily change the stitching to your liking  :happy2:

Don't be afraid of the stitching.

You can easily change the leather (leather-like vinyl) separately  from the knob.

I changed mine my self when fitting the ED30 knob as I didn't like the red stitching as well.

Thank you very much guys for you thoughts. You gave me some great ideas.  :drinking:
I will leave the knob for now as I have a lot of money to spend on the upcoming Nring + Spa trip and for some other small things (wheel bearings, paintjob, suspension setting, etc). Hope everything is done in time for the track days.

 . Same here Jake!

And to keep you updated, I was 'carless' for almost 2 weeks. I decided to fix all the imperfections regrading the paintwork and the car was at my dealer for almost 2 weeks. I occasionally drove other cars but I really missed mine.
And today the dealer called me and told me the car was ready
They fixed:
- the roof (ice fell on my roof from a truck on the Ungarian Highway some time ago)
- the front right fender, right and left door, rear bumper, rear valance, hood, front bumper, right side mirror were painted because of the various marks (stone clips, small scratches)
- the wind shield and front right fog light were replaced also because of stone chips.

The dealer also painted the ED30 front valance. I have to tell you, this is a great looking valance. I just love it! The car seems much lower and IMO looks much better. Finally the car is looking as it should have looked from the beginning.
Here are some pour quality photos (I will make some better ones but I am so thrilled that I wanted to share this information right now)

And just after I took the car from the dealer I started the Nring + Spa preparations.
First I had some mechanical issues to attend... So I went to my mechanic to install some new bearing for the front axle. The front right bearing was in a real bad shape so I decided to change both sides. I think tracking, the bad roads I am traveling (even if I am going quite slow), the extra camber and the spacers all had to do with the bearing failure.

Next I will have an alignment, CAI installation and I am good to go :).
Thanks for watching!
