Rex, now it's time to have a PerformanceBox and display some data, isn't it?

What the man said. Will do it myself in the future. Bruce, do you think a driftbox would be appropriate ?

Have a look at racelogic.co.uk .
A friend has a PerformanceBox, so I in the past I didn't need to buy one.
I never had the chance to try the Driftbox. Maybe 2012 when autocossing.
Guess there was a guy owning the Driftbox.

Rex, you're a smart guy. Let Fuscobal buy the box is most cost effective   :signLOL:
You know I just meant to provide some nice data (speed, G-force etc.)
to your movies.

Cheap alternative:

use RaceChrono or similar on your phone and add an external 10 Hz bluetooth GPS
(Qstarz BTQ818). I'm no expert on this stuff of course.

Ha ha . Actually, I have the speed, it's just that I can't show it on the youtube videos.
Here is the video player that comes with the camera:

I tried to put a camera on the dashboard but it just doesn't stick well enough and after very little time it comes of...
So I have to find another way...
Thanks for the ideas!

And a small update...
I just sold the VW OEM Goal rims. I don't know what I will be replacing them with, but 17 inch TD Pro Race 1.2 are on pole position. And thoughts are welcomed.

But, just before sending the Goal rims to the buyer I made one photoshoot with them.
Sorry for the massive amount of photos I am posting !
Here are the results:

This is a photo where you can see the extra camber (2 degrees 30 minutes):

Thanks for watching!

The photographer did the hard work. I just cleaned the car and drove carefully for the "rig photography" shots. The rig was quite unstable but I managed to have a steady speed and the camera vibrations were reduced. Than the photographer took the rig out of the photos using photoshop and you have the images above. Some have quite amazing colors due to the fact that the photos were taken in a shopping mall parking lot and there were a lot of commercials on the buildings behind.

Hi everyone.

It's been a while since I last wrote here. So, it's time for a little update: the car will have its 4th anniversary this weekend. When I bought it I remember thinking I will keep this car for 4 years. But know I have no thoughts of selling the car (only modifying it). In fact I have a lot of plans with this car. The funny thing is I like it more now then when I bought it.

And I also wanted to share a video:

Whenever I have some time I always enjoy watching Nurburgring laps. From the latest, August 2011, Nurburgring trip I only showed you 2 laps form the total of 23. I like to watch the other 21 laps as well and there is always something interesting to see and hopefully something to learn.
The above lap is a lap where I really enjoyed driving the Nurburgring. It was the first lap of that day so the tires were cold (you will see some understeer in the first corners), the driver is a more or less concentrated, the lines are not exactly what I wished for but all in all those things don't matter. The fun factor is all that matters.
Enjoy!

Great thread Rex, I always pop into this thread for my 'ring fix!! when I see an update.

I now have a 1.4 too, so I now feel like the cars are like close relatives. :happy2:
Golf R gone.

Thanks Hurdy!  :drinking:
Yes, our cars are distant relatives. Mine is the heavier and slower and older relative :drinking:. Honestly, I wish I had bought a twin charge engine instead of my single charge one (I only have the turbo). When buying the car I had the money to take a twin charge engine (about 500 pounds) but I thought the single charger was more reliable. Back than I didn't think I would visit the track this much . Our engines have the same engine block and only some other small parts in common (like Diverter Valve, some other valves, etc). But the turbo, injectors, clutch, transmission, etc are all different  :sad1:.

So, a Polo GTI for your next car then?
