So, a Polo GTI for your next car then?
I would really like a Polo GTI, but the parts used on my Golf don't fit the Polo. So I will keep the Golf as my track car even it it is severely underpowered.
I would like a Polo as a daily drive, though....

So, a Polo GTI for your next car then?

with the battery in the rear (from factory)  :happy2: :happy2:
Is that even possible?

Thanks for the Vid Rex, I always find them entertaining  :congrats:

The pics are awesome too  :happy2:
Thanks!
As always any comments of my mistakes are welcomed since I am trying to improve.
Honestly the photos are much better than the photographer had hoped for. All the colors are real and the only Photoshop used is to take the rig (attached to the car in order to take the photos) out of the photo.

the bruce: nice! That battery in the back might be more efficient than the 25kg of dead weight added to the rear bumper .

And a small update:

Here are the specs:

Cheeky hint of Vw wheel bag there too lol

. I have to buy one more... The bags are holding the BBS rims right now. So I may need another set.

Today I fitted the rims on the car to see that everything is ok and that that brakes.

But first I weighed the rims:

9.2 kg opposed to 9.0 kg that TD say. I guess that it is because of the central bore which is 57.1mm opposed to 66mm and it is made of metal.
The strange thing is that fuscobal measured his 8x18 TD Pro Race 1.2 and they also weigh 9.2 kg (with 66mm central bore).

Here are some photos taken during the test-fit installation:

Another thing worth mentioning is that the brake clearance is HUGE. To be more exact 19mm. So, if anybody has the bbk and wants to have 7.5 x 17 it will go without any problems...

Oh... and one more thing... Some H&R spacers don't go well with the custom bore of 57.1 mm. Basically if you want TD's with 57.1mm central bore you can't use H&R hubcentric spacers on the rear of the car.

Very nice Rex, some sticky tyres to go with them for the summer, and you will have a good leap in performance.  :jumpmove:

Perfect fitment !! And looks great.  :happy2:

Glad you decided for 8.o0" wide rims.
Hope you wont't get issues with fender clearence. Guess you have TT arms fitted
but I remember you wanted to go for wider fenders.

I am wanting to stay with 17" so this is interesting. What size tyre are you going for? I had thought about 235 40.

Thanks TC. In spring I will mount my semislicks (Kumho V70a). They are more than a year old but still have some thread left. When these are worn I would like to go for some proper slicks. I'll see how it goes.

Yup. I was expecting 5-6mm of clearance not 19mm  :innocent:.

Thanks the bruce. I went for the 8 inch wide rims because I might want to have some wider tires. I still have some life left on the Kumho v70a but I am planing for some stickier tires. These go better on 8 inch rims (even if they are 225mm wide).
And yes, I will go for the Kerscher fenders in spring.

I am wanting to stay with 17" so this is interesting. What size tyre are you going for? I had thought about 235 40.

Well I will still go with 225/45. One thing to mention here is that even if the tires are said to be 225 wide the width can be greater or smaller. I am currently hoping for Kumho S700 225/45 which are actually 238mm wide (http://www.kumhotire.com/tire/tire_detail.jsp?category_cd=001001000000000).

:notworthy: Thats brake/wheel combo is a winner!  :happy2:

Thanks! Honestly, I like the OEM Goal (the ones used for the car rig photos) better but the TD's are more for functionality and less for looks.

Hello - hope you had a good Xmas :xmassmiley: :santa:

Before you mount the wheels to the car could you do me a favour and measure the internal diameter of them please?

~I am thinking of running 330mm discs and wondered if they will fit in these 8x17"...

Thanks! :happy2:

Knowing the diameter of the discs won't help you much with knowing if the wheels fit. I had 345mm discs/S3 calipers inside the standard GTI rims wich have a smaller internal diameter than the TD. Being a motorsport rim, TD was designed to have the biggest amount of space for the calipers so provided you don't have huge calipers, your brakes will fit easily behind those TDs
