2.0 TDI 8v (140ps stock) with a software remap ~160 - 165cp (it was not tested on the dyno). The car is faster than mine on a straight line (we made a 50 km/h - 180 km/h test and we won by about 10m)
This guy is an old friend with whom I always have a good time on the track. We's got pretty much the same mods as me: B16, H&R sways, semislicks, GTI front brake setup with Tarox + steel lines + Carbotech (unlike my nqsbbk). And this guys is a very good driver  .
This time, with a passenger in my car and none in his, I was just a little bit faster than him. Without passenger I am about 1-2 seconds faster (I don't have the official times yet   ).

Nice pics !!  :congrats:

I like the red color in the sunshine even more and more.
But I wonder about your brake issues.

Vents from the fog lights? RS3 vents? Pagid RS29 or Endless MA45B for the Boxster caliper?

Thanks!  :happy2:

I was thinking of installing some vents from the open fog grills.
Pagid RS29 are not available for the Boxster caliper  :sad1:.
But my mind is on RS 14 at the moment...

If Pagid doesn't offer the proper pads for your calipers there are others too:

Carbone Lorraine (some are extremely noisy), Performance Friction, Endless, Carbopad RS.

They all do fantastic stuff.  :happy2:

I'll definetly try some full racing pads in the near future.

I will continue with some photos because I like these photos a lot and I think it would be rude not to share.
So here is maybe the best shot that my friends took:

And here are some shots with the car on the track:

With my friend fuscobal:

Preparing to overtake the GTR on the straight that follows the pit entry:

... just kidding... no chance with my bhp  :P

Here is an interesting shot (3 mk5's):

And these are the tires after 5 Hungaroring track days, 1 Spa + 23 laps of the Nurburging (almost slicks  :innocent:).

Thanks for watching!

Thank you guys!
I like that photo best . The photo has to be edited a little bit so it will look even better.

I hope I can provide some good photos for the calendar but I am a little bit afraid that the competition will be fierce since there are so many nice cars and great photographers around here

Oh, the bruce I agree with you. I like how my car look in the sunshine and mot of all I like how it looks at sunset. No wonder they called it "Sunset red".

I'd never thought a metallic red Golf would ever look so good.  :happy2:

Rex

I suspect you may have outgrown the NQSBBK....they have however got you through many track days and no doubt improved your abilities considerably so they owe you nothing

which is well done when you dont have an abundance of power....

I'd guess Nordschleife isn't any issue to the brakes. Hungaroring is a completly different thing.

Thanks Dave!
Honestly I never thought I would outgrown the NQSBBK with my power. But apparently I brake harder and harder. I think the kit is good enough for my needs but I just need a better pad and better cooling. I have to buy the air ducts and the cooling is done...
BTW, I send you a few mails regarding some disks and pads (for me and for a friend of mine). And Dave, since we are at it, what about a RS 14 for track days? Or is there anything else that is better?
Cheers!  :drinking:

I'd guess Nordschleife isn't any issue to the brakes. Hungaroring is a completly different thing.
Nurburgring is quite easy on the brakes.
I found out that Spa is quite demanding on the brakes (much more demanding than Hungaroring).

Well guys, I was wrong about my times... Seems that my best time improved with over 1.2 seconds...
In fact all the laps from the session below are better than my previous best (my previous best was 2.23.35 and this session the times are 2.23.31, 2.22.74, 2.22.11, 2.22.34, 2.22.41)

And a few comments:
- I tried some different camera angles and this video is with the older Janus device for outside and inside shots and with GoProHero2 for RPM and speed reading.
- at the end the Janus and GoPro are slightly out of sync.
- please notice the multiple missfire issues I had  :sad1: BTW did anyone with the 1.4 TSI engine change the OEM coils?
- at 10.40 I lose the back a little bit but, probably because of my previous episodes, I correct the movement at once. I hope to be able to do this every time  :innocent:.

Comments are welcome!
Enjoy!
