You looked on the support section of the laptop's manufacturer?

Yea, it only has the driver for a 64bit system..

After doing a little searching it looks like there are other manufacturers that use the same touch pad, its just finding the right driver. And everytime I get the wrong one it stops the pad from working so I have to roll back...   :sad1:

I always advise folk to make a note of what hardware is installed by looking in device manager before changing OS. This makes looking for specific hardware drivers easier on the web if the manufacturer does not offer a compatible driver.

Without traction power is nothing!

Yea, if I was a bit more IT savvy I prob would of. But I wasn't expecting any driver probs as the only other time I've had driver probs has been on upgrading, not downgrading..

Does the support download section state what type/make of touchpad the driver is for?

I was about to reply saying if you go in to the device in device manager, go to the details tab i think it is, then on the drop down go to "Hardware ID" then google the code there, it will give you the specific driver for that hardware as thats the code that identifies the driver is valid for that device

The link I posted did work but wasn't very stable so I removed it..

I contacted Sony last night and they were spot on, emailed back first thing today with the correct driver  :happy2:
