Ok... but I take it these clips can bought easily and fairly cheaply if need be??!

Do you mean the clip on the back of the pad? They are part of the brake pad itself.

Having never seen the Golf R brake kit im just presuming that the pads as the same as the R32.... are you 100% sure those are the correct pads?

Yer 100%, I might try and take the other caliper clip off and see if theres that clip behind the other one... if not I guess i'll have to buy new pads?
