My Graphite blue Mk5
« on: January 27, 2011, 07:10:00 pm »
Hey i am new on here and to the mk5 golf scene

I had a mk4 golf for a while but that got smashed into by a big lorry :( So I had to get myself an upgrade.

Here is a pic of my old just so you know:

So anyway got myself a Mk5 Golf 1.6 FSI SE, got loads of kit like, cuise control, 6speed box, auto wipers, auto lights etc

First thing i bought about 2days after picking up the car was some new wheels, went for some BBS RS II 18x8.5 et32 and 18x10 et40 they had just had a full refurb and in A1 condition so had to have them as always loved these wheels :D

Next up was a set of coilovers to sort out the way she sat

Also trial fitted the wheels to see how they sat, got a bold 225/40 18 to try over the rear to see if they would do and was happy enough so going with them on the rear

As you can see it no way low enough :( the coilovers are all they way down too so in the process of getting some custom springs from somewhere :S

Also fitted my Kicker QS components and Kicker CVR Comp Subs and Alpine head unit

Hoping to get the wheels on when the weather pics up and get it a lot lower......

C&C welcome :)

Thanks for reading

Very nice mate. You going for cosmetic mods first and then moving onto Performance, or just doing what takes your fancy at the time?

Yeah, most important thing for me is to get it sitting right so once that is done want to play with the body work and interior and then maybe a play under the bonnet but unsure what to do. turbocharged???

Great wheels   :happy2: doesn't it rub at all? They are very wide at the back.

Those tyres must be streeeeeetched!  :signLOL:  I was rubbing at the back when I had 19x8.5 with an offset of 45 but I did have 235/35/19 tyres on, since switching to 225/35/19 they have been fine. Also do the screw mod at the front if you haven't already  :happy2:
