GTI & R32
« on: January 28, 2011, 04:31:25 pm »
Hello everyone,

Firstly thanks for a great and very useful forum. I've been on here a while and bought my GTI last march as a result after deciding road tax was too much on an R32.

After 9 months I couldn't resist and had to buy an R32. Pics below. ( Apologies for iphone pics.) Comments welcome.

Then picked this up today:

Have you driven quickly around corners yet on leather seats? If not get yourself some rubber trousers for when you do :happy2:

Otherwise you'll end up in the passenger seat!

looking at the pics together, Ive realised that I prefer
the front end of the GTI and the rear of the R32

I've got to agree, would love an ed30 front end on my r32. Kinda defeats the purpose tho!

Yeah I know I am worried about the bolsters cant seem to get in and out without using them. I gues you have to kind of climb and land straight on the seat bit. Don't know yet, I realy want a exhaust to make it sing!  Some LED sidelights to start and get rid of the yellow. The aftermarket copy rns 510 is a bit annoying and will go at some point when funds allow.

Very nice, is it DSG?

How does it feel against the GTI?

Manual, I was temted by DSG but long term would worry about cost of replace / repair. Feels much more responsive, throttle is instant, in some parts of the rev range there is not as much punch but the grip is immense!

Have you driven quickly around corners yet on leather seats? If not get yourself some rubber trousers for when you do :happy2:

Otherwise you'll end up in the passenger seat!

There isn't much room to fit in the recaros so I am commited to running! to stay i them! Don't move at all.

Nice car matey :happy2:

First clean today which turned into a bit of a nightmare! Spent ages on the exhaust and its nearly there, got 3/4 of the way round with polish before wax when it began rainning , so had to stop! Then went to start the car to move it and battery is flat!

On another note I never like cleaning cars just after buying because you always find the marks that you couldn't see on the forecourt, however I haven't done too badly but there are a couple chips. Anyone no best place for touch up kit? I used halford before with the GTI but the colour match was shocking! Do VW do kits?

More pics will follow when I get it started. Added stubby aerial, bottle opener and rubber mats today. LED sidelights to follow and will need to find no. plate LED lamps.
