Does anyone know how to cancel it?

Been paying £12.50 a month and dont use any of the rewards at all so rather have that money back in my pockets.

Your best going into branch and doing it, so that if you sign a document request your account to be changed back to a standard account then you have proof. Just in case that they dont do it and you get charged again next month.

i have an UR acc.

I only pay £7.50, which for the  Mobile ins, and Travel ins is great.  i claimed back £240 from travelling back overland during the ash cloud drama.

Halifax pay me £5 back into my account every month.

Looks like I will have to get to a branch all seem to close at 12.30 tomorrow and thats what time I finish work.


Make it easy to take your money but when you want to take it back its a right ballache. Same with claiming bloody tax back. Can that be done online?

I think it used to be £7.50 then went up when I opened mine. I dont travel all that much so would benefit more from just paying the one off insurance fee. The phone insurance is good but could get that cheaper through my provider. Dont use any of the other benefits and as I have a sh*t job I dont earn enough to recieve the monthly £5. Shocking.

Its very simple to cancel just call the telephone banking number 08456203040 and ask to downgrade your account.  As long as you cancel it before the £12.50 is due that month you wont be charged.  The change will take effect overnight.  You would need to phone the bank between 7am and 10pm to do this.( i work for the bank so that's why i know so much).Scott's wife

After a new job as I need to put my degree to use so will be after a new car then. Work around them all day and its mighty tempting to splash the cash on one.

I've got the one were they give me a fiver a month  . Just don't go overdrawn even if you have an authorised one as they charge you a pound a day  .

Just downgraded. £12.50 a month better off 


I dont even earn a £1000 a month. Shocking job at the minute. Better than being on the dole though.
