Got 4 x Coils from TPS last summer and cost me under £100.  :happy2:

Do you not have anyone close with VCDS Robin?

Straight swap and part number on the box i have for them is 06E 905 115 E

....Does the last letter 'E' denote their revision?

I'd say so but probably has changed since as i have them a year at least. I wonder if they are more reliable as i don't hear many RS$'s with coil pack failure?

Re my occasional misfire only under load:

JKM, who experienced the misfire under load on the dyno on Saturday, tell me I should be fine to drive the 90 miles to them if I continue to take it steady. I have to pass by JKM on Wednesday anyway and I have VW Assist/RAC full cover and a spare coilover in my boot if it gets worse en route.

I have a recording session tomorrow and so doubt my window of free time would coincide with Dave also having a window. Plus I am low on V-Power and would have to travel an extra 30 miles to get some before visiting him whereas the nearest Shell station is on my route on Wednesday.

So thanks for the helpful info, Nath, but I think Wednesday and JKM is my best option.  :drinking:

....Something I acquired on the way  I better check that it is indeed a coilover as I thought I spotted some batteries in it. It compliments the 5-litre can of aptly named Fuchs oil I also carry - Something which Thor likes to use on special occasions such as at hen parties or jumping out of birthday cakes. You never know when you might need these things.
