that was my thought too!

off to see a company today who want me to do some of their cars and customers cars and this is what they specialise in, they look after range rovers, porsches etc as well as your normal type of cars

i'll report back but was interested in what it involved..

Stay well away is my advise, ive fixed a screw up from one of these waterless car washes before, 2 days and alot of sweat later it was looking good again

i wont be getting any of my cars done there for no other reason than its so alien and the concept stinks of disaster! Its more their client base i'm interested in and happily supply them with what they need but need to be careful who i associate with..  :innocent:

My general consensus on the waterless valeting industry is steer clear as it's full of hack jobs. That's not to say it can't be done. It can be done relatively safely if the car is not too dirty. That's being done with great care, by someone who is acutely aware of the dangers should it go not so swimmingly.

9.9/10 times, it's done by a guy who hasn't got a clue and isnt interested in having a clue. ;)

well that was an eye opener  :smiley:

baring in mind i look after a couple of detailers already i was surprised to see how empty the workshop was... just a shelf full of spray bottles a couple of rolls of blue tissue and not alot else!

the client list was reasonable though, some overfinches, porsches, audi's and scoobies and the guy wants to be able to offer graphics packages, so got the contract  :innocent:

...however, not something i would do to MY cars though  :laugh:

I'd sooner do ONR than completely waterless. I think a fair test would be to have three cars that were fully corrected, then subject to the same dirt. Car 1 is washed the detailer's way, car 2 is washed using ONR and car 3 using the above system. Repeat several times (5, 10, 20) and after each set, analyse the paintwork to see which inflicted the most damage.

Not being one for cleaning my cars TBH but when I went to my friends garage I use for all things VAG he had a guy wiping a dirty gritty winter car with an E-Cloth.

I asked him what he was doing and he said 'waterless cleaning system'.

I promptly told my mate, in earshot, to not wash my car when I bring it in if that is how he is doing it now.

The guy who was cleaning the cars reponse?

'I am fully insured'!

That will be ok then will it!
