I need a screw....
« on: February 01, 2011, 04:24:53 pm »
.
To be precise, a T30 Star head preferably in black.

So, that's a tart in black lingerie who's a bit of a star and gives head, or a black chick who....

I dropped one with cold fingers when putting my engine cover back on and it's disappeared. Moving the car backwards and forwards braking sharply didn't dislodge it onto the ground (a car park in Portsmouth). Is such a screw a VW specific only or can they be bought elsewhere, please?

It's the screw just to the right of the protected hose:

Thanks for any help  :drinking:

Addenda: It doesn't have to be black.

....Even after a 100 mile journey home, some of which was bumpy?

I best find one of those 'female friendly' garages to jack my car up

I think it wise of me to get some spare T30 screws anyway if I can source some. Thanks for the suggestion anyway, Mat  :happy2:

....That's very kind of you, Damo, but you might need it yourself one day!  :drinking:

It's one of the screws holding a cover on the lefthand (driver's) side of the engine - Not something you'd be undoing regularly, but.

Sorry Robin, but I've only got a T25 one (well 2 of them). More than likely the same thread as the T30..

Any good to you?

Its off my old car, too  :happy2:

....Ah, a part # could be useful as I'm dropping in on my VW dealer early tomorrow socially (an excuse to park there while I visit the town).

....Roughly (without going out to the batcave and getting my car out and then undoing the remaining screw and trying not to drop it in the dark!) I guess about 15 mm max but I have no idea what thread or how to measure thread even if I had the equipment.

But Thank You  :drinking:

....Crikey! I better write that down and take it to my VW dealer tomorrow and see the Parts man.   :drinking:

Btw, just out of interest what is that side plate the screws are fixing? Just a protective cover?

The Evoms engine cover uses the same fixing points.

You only need the actual number part, not the whole description  :happy2:

I'm not sure mate as I cant see that cover in my engine bay, but I did see a screw that looks exactly the same at the one in your pic and found that on ETKA
