Love vreds, gutted the prices have gone up recently.  Looks like I'll be going back to goodyear f1 assymetricals as at £74 a tyre fitted (dads goodyear pension discount), I can't justify the extra cost of the vreds

Elite direct have them for £100.80 (225/40/18), or for £102 (235/40/18). Same price on their website and through ebay.

What size are you getting the Goodyears for that price? Mine cost an extra £10 per corner nearly 2 yr ago. And the tread is still okay. Not great in the wet if really pushed, but maybe it's the way I'm used to lighter cars and chucking em at corners? Cracking in the dry though   :happy2:

The Goodyears are 225/45 r18's. Just as good as the vreds, just don't look as cool and I'm sure the vreds are lasting much longer?!

If you`re buying tyres off the `net how much is it costing you to get them fitted and balanced?

Are you better going to a local tyre place or using someone like ATS?

I pay £20 for 4 tyres to be fitted and balanced, but I know some places like ATS,Kwickfit ect charge much more as they make the money on the tyres not the fitting.

Some have been quoted £30 a corner.

Best to find somewhere to fit them before ordering online really and work out costs.

My last Vreds cost me £360 plus £20 fitting/balancing so stilll under £100 a corner for a decent tyre IMO.

Slightly off topic....about 1999 i had a BMW (sorry) which had 235/40 x 17's I had 4 tyres fitted , they were Goodyears and think were NCT2's they were over £200 a tyre ! and that was with a 20% kwik fit (new retail unit opening ) discount . Tyres do seem cheaper now , £100 for a 225/40 x 18 seems fantastic especially as the previous posters say they are a good tyre. What tread depth do these start with as that can have some influence as some manufacturers start with different depths from new
