BMW 1 series M or an e92 M3

not strictly hot hatches but I think the 1M is going to be excellent. The RS3 is going to be a hard package to beat in the hothatch class, possibly the most complete package ever as a hatch????

except it looks like an a4 estate and only comes as a 5 door  :rolleye: not really a hot hatch imo.

....Agreed. The RS3 in Sportback is more of a small Avant. It offers very similar interior accommodation to the Golf but I wouldn't describe it as a hatchback.

Does the RS3/TTRS come with the 'proper' Quattro drivetrain or the second rate Haldex?

Did anyone read last months evaluation of the Golf R v Evo and STI Scoob?

They didn't really rate the Haldex equipped Golf in the snow like the other proper 4 wheel drive systems which are permanent.

Their oppinion I suppose (and mine from track experience)

I'd like to buy the V8 RS4 Avant in black in a few years time. The M3 CS is a very good secondhand buy right now too and has a properly good chassis.

Older RS4 is nice although very expensive to maintain after speaking to APS.

TTRS floats my boat but I don't think they will drop much anytime soon....nice package though.

....I don't fancy the styling of the Meganne or most French cars except the Nimik 2CV van conversion with the Ferrari engine:

im a fan of the new one. A million miles ahead of the old one in looks, build quality and interior
im not gonna rise to that :signLOL: but no, it looks like an astra trying to be a golf, as for build, the r26 is well put together.
on topic, i will never buy another hot hatch but if i did i would want a golf r.
