Chaps rear 286's are about 14 quid each, and theres always a set on ebay for buttons. 500 with the VAT seems daft.

Looks like I'll be ordering up some new front and rear discs then.

I have the 312 fronts but if I've got to get the rears I think I might get grooved all round while I'm at it

For no other reason other than they look pretty

with some advice daveb and a thank you to him for some rear brake lines ive got the 312mm gti set up on the front and the 310mm r32 rear set up on my jetta now.  i rebuilt all the calipers with new seals and slide pins as the r32 one were slightly bent.  the car feels nice and stable under braking with less nose dive under hard braking

Just thinking.....be careful with 312's on the front and 310's on the rear, you might not get full weight transfer to the front wheels which increase the contact patch of the tyre, the brakes do the braking but the tyres do the stopping!!!! Need to think about that one...... :rolleye:

Good excuse for BBK though!!

The 286's are nice for a diet bbk such as NQSBBK with a pad upgrade or grooved discs.

The S3 rears are really required for balancing any of the 350mm+ BBKs such as VWR/AP Racing etc etc
