.
If you haven't bought the Twintake yet, speak to Forge (John Withers 01452 380999 and mention my name) and I'm fairly sure they could supply one finished in silver - They use a very high quality powdercoat specialist.

The carbon centre strip is from TTshop and you'd have to stick on your own VW logo - I used a blue&white enamel one.

Buy a secondhand oem cover and use a dremel. There's threads already here about how-to - NeilM for example.

You're very welcome - It's good we can all help each other  :grouphug:. And the Thank You click is always much appreciated  :drinking:

If you go ahead with this, use black Tiger Seal to stop the centre strip from rattling against the engine cover. I can tell you more detail about this* if/when you go ahead.

Edit: * Probably best that I update my thread in the How-to section later today... Job #432!

....It's not especially loud. You can hear it but it only sounds louder according to how suddenly you use your right foot. Post a link to the YouTube vid you heard and I'll comment further.

Well that's quite a good recording and fairly typical of the Twintake when the bonnet is open and heard from the front. However, it'll sound different with the bonnet closed (quieter) and even more different from inside the cabin depending also on factors like bonnet lining and engine mounts.

You don't hear it much from outside when passing unless loaded under throttle and suddenly lifting off (fun to hear in a tunnel). There are no chavvy constantly swishing sounds. Sound is very subjective though.

Just to add a little more info on the Twintake sound:

I find that if you consciously listen you'll hear a fairly constant Darth Vader breathing (as in the vid but quieter) and only hear the additional sounds according to your use of throttle. So, you can actually play it to hear as you want, not forgetting of course that as you are playing it via your right foot the car will respond accordingly!

As someone who is used to listening and mixing recorded music tracks within a song, I feel that the mix balance is on the sweet spot - At least it is on my car.
